As part of RBC’s Employee Volunteer Program, 12 RBC volunteers in Toronto rolled up their sleeves to host a holiday party for WoodGreen Community Service’s Jack Layton Seniors’ Centre. Over 60 senior residents attended the lunch and participated in various games and activities. The event gave guests valuable time to relax and celebrate the festive season.

WoodGreen is a solution provider for some of our society’s most complex social issues. With a vision of “a Toronto where everyone has the opportunity to thrive”, WoodGreen is the largest social service agency in Toronto with over 75 programs to help and support various communities. The Adult Day Program provides social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for senior adults, those suffering with Alzheimer’s disease or other related illnesses in a day-to-day care environment.

“Spending the afternoon at WoodGreen was a fantastic experience, from serving lunch to hosting rounds of Bingo. Despite the language barrier, the residents were so happy to see us and their smiles didn’t require any translation.”
