Actua’s Future Skills Program, a national employment skills and competencies program, trains and employs undergraduate students—including Indigenous and racialized youth and girls—to develop and deliver STEM education programs. RBC also supports the charity’s high school internship program, which engages Indigenous students in practical job experiences and future skills training.
The Canada Learning Code Teens Learning Code Program provides youth, primarily female-identified, trans and non-binary teens, with the opportunity to prepare for the digital economy through educational experiences that develop coding, problem solving, project management and other essential skills. Funding from RBC Investor & Treasury Services also supports the Teen Ambassador Program, which provides teens with the ability to learn and share digital skills with their peers.
RBC is proud to support the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation’s “Build Them Up” campaign, which is raising funds to build a new Child and Youth Mental Health Centre in Calgary.
RBC Investor & Treasury Services supports the DAREarts Youth Leadership Institute, a skills development program that provides youth with the opportunity to build their project planning, conflict resolution, communication, digital literacy, and collaboration skills through arts-based learning. The program targets students in seven underserved communities, including Toronto (Regent Park, North Etobicoke, Scarborough and Peel Region), Vancouver, Webequie First Nation and Attawapiskat First Nation.
RBC is pleased to support Partners for Life, Fondation jeunes en tête’s high school outreach program, which focuses on the prevention of psychological distress among adolescents in Quebec and Ontario.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax is creating an e-mental health solution that offers care to youth and adults across Nova Scotia. RBC is a proud supporter of this initiative, which is being developed in concert with the Mental Health Commission of Canada and the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
RBC is supporting the efforts of St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver to establish a “one-stop shop” for young people to access mental health care, substance abuse services, primary care, social services, and youth and family peer support.
RBC’s contribution to the Integrated Youth Mental Health Hubs is helping to provide young people and their families across Manitoba with low barrier mental health services in a “one-stop shop” setting.
Through RBC’s support, students and recent graduates receive a free, 50-hour skills development program, including classroom learning, online webinars and in-field activities.
RBC’s contribution enables the Work-Integrated Learning Program to assist post-secondary students before, during and following their summer employment, engaging students in workshops, seminars and industry networking events, while being guided by industry mentors and faculty facilitators.
RBC’s funding will support a regional, bilingual, coordinated access and navigation service—the One Call/One Click Program—for children and youth with complex mental health and/or addiction needs.
RBC is supporting the Venture for Canada Fellowship Program, which provides recent university graduates with the skills and experience to launch successful entrepreneurial careers through a training camp at Queen’s University in Kingston, followed by placement at a partner startup.
Since 2010, RBC employees have raised and donated money to support GOSH. In recognition of RBC’s continuous support, an entire unit of GOSH’s new clinical building, opened in 2018, has been named the Royal Bank of Canada Neurosciences Unit.
Since 2019, RBC has helped more than 100 young people to transform their circumstances and become their own boss by supporting The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme. The Programme includes a combination of advice, guidance, inspirational talks and support for budding entrepreneurs to make their business dreams a reality.
In partnership with basis.point, RBC I&TS in Ireland is supporting the National College of Ireland (NCI) Early Learning Initiative’s (ELI) Coding Club. At Code Clubs run by staff of NCI’s School of Computing and volunteers from RBC, children aged 7 – 12 are learning to code, build and test mBots, and programme in a fun and challenging way.
RBC I&TS and Teach For Malaysia’s (TFM) mission is to advocate for education equity in Malaysia - where every child receives the opportunity of an excellent education, regardless of background. In addition, 10+ RBC employees raise money and volunteer at Teach for Malaysia Day and TFM’s Dragon’s Den project each year.
Ronald McDonald House Charities continues to be one of our partners for RBC Race for the Kids Malaysia. Funds raised support seriously ill or injured children and their families by providing a “home away from home”.
PINTAR (an acronym of Promoting Intelligence, Nurturing Talent & Advocating Responsibility) Foundation is one of our new charity partners for RBC Race for the Kids Malaysia. PINTAR works to complement existing ongoing efforts by the Government of Malaysia to provide equitable access to quality education for all and ensuring schools and students receive adequate aid to attain the highest standards of education.
The Singapore Children’s Society is our official charity partner for Race for the Kids Singapore. Today, Children's Society operates 12 service centres island-wide, offering services in the four categories of: Vulnerable Children and Youth, Children and Youth Services, Family Services, and Research and Advocacy.
BGCA continues to be our charity partner for RBC Race for the Kids and RBC Trade for the Kids in Hong Kong. Since 2014, RBC volunteers’ donations have gone to support BGCA’s youth mentorship and special education programs.
